It’s that time of year again - time to start thinking about an important date to mark on your calendar. Join all of your industry associates on Friday, August 19th, 2011 for the MIA 13th Annual Charity Golf Classic. Our event moves to Nobleton Lakes Golf Club (www.nobletonlakesgolf.com) and we’re making some other changes to ensure the day’s event ends at a more reasonable time. The 9:00 a.m. check-in registration and 10:00 a.m. shotgun start. In addition, instead of gathering for a BBQ lunch before golfing, each golfer will be issued a lunch ticket and take their lunch while golfing. Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis as golf registration is limited to 216 golfers. The tournament will use a four-person ‘scramble’ format with check-in registration commencing at 9:00 a.m. on August 19th. Again this year, we will offer an “all inclusive” tournament fee of $ 275.00 per participant or form your own foursome for $1,000 per foursome. Green fees, carts, lunch, dinner, and draw prizes are included. Other than beverages, there will not be any out-of-pocket expenses. As always, our corporate and individual sponsors play a large role in the tournament’s success and we whole-heartedly encourage you to become a sponsor for either the Birdie Level $275.00 or the Eagle Level $500.00. Sponsorship and donations acknowledgement will be prominent throughout the event. Or perhaps you would like to make a donation in an amount of your choice. Net proceeds from the golf and 100% of all donations and sponsorship monies go to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation (PMHF) for Mesothelioma Research. PMHF will provide tax receipts for donations and sponsorship monies. Since the inaugural event in 1999, this tournament has raised close to $1,000,000 towards early detection of and cure for MESOTHELIOMA. The Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto is one of the world’s leading organizations in the research of this disease and receives funds directly associated with our tournament. Workers and their families are already reaping the benefits of the early detection program now in place and funded by this event. See you there on August 19th. Let us all continue the drive towards a cure. Each small victory will contribute to finally winning the battle against MESOTHELIOMA.
