Regional Council Meetings 2012   

Meetings for Regions 1, 4, 5, and 6 have been set for January 2012.  Email notices will be going out shortly.  Dates, times, and places can be found on the Events Calendar.  [Added Dec 7^th, 2011]

SAM 2012   

Our SAM weekend this year will be in Niagara-on-the-Lake with accommodations at the Prince of Wales Hotel.  The hotel will also be the venue for our Friday night President's Dinner & Dance.  On Saturday, golf will be at the Royal Niagara Golf Course and dinner will be at the Reif Estate where we will enjoy wine and food pairings as well as a tour of the winery.

Ladies' Night 2011   

Well from all accounts, Ladies' Night this year was an event not to be missed.  The live music provided by the Decades Show from Deerhurst was GREAT!  The Intercontinental was a beautiful location within walking distance of downtown.  The hotel's staff were friendly and hospitable -- looking after us like we were family.  You can read about the highlights of the evening on the Ladies' Night page.  LN11 Photos have now been posted or you can download them.  Thank you to all for making this another very successful MIA social get together.  [Updated Dec 7^th, 2011]

Annual Charity Golf for Mesothelioma 2011   

Thank you again to all our sponsors and donors for this year's efforts toward research and early detection of Mesothelioma at Princess Margaret Hospital.  At Ladies' Night, we had the pleasure of presenting this year's cheque for $75,000 to Dr. Marc de Perrot and his wife Dr. Karen McRae.  Marc heads up the Mesothelioma program at Princess Margaret and both he and Karen work in the Thoracic Surgery Department of University Health Network (UNH) to which Princess Margaret Hospital belongs.  Updated Dec 6^th, 2011]

PROPOSED Upgrades effective January 1, 2012   

The Proposed Upgrades for Apprentices and for Removers was emailed to members on Dec 1^st, 2011.    [Updated Dec 6^th, 2011]

Revised Wages Tables Revision 3 for May 1st   

The Wage Tables R3 effective May 1st, 2011 are now available on the Agreements webpage.  The revised wage tables include a raise per the contract plus deduction changes to increase amounts for Pensions and Benefits.  Note that the Wages Tables for 2012-2013 have not been changed at this time since changes are expected before those tables come into effect.   [Added April 18^th, 2011]

New ICI Collective Agreement (2010-2013)   

The new agreement is now available online.  An email is being sent to key personnel at each of our Active Member companies/contractors today.  The email will advise as to the availability of the electronic files, their location, and the MIA-provided password to open the pdf files.  If you did not receive the email, please contact the MIA Manager to request the password.

Printed copies of the agreement are not yet available and a limited number of copies will be made.  When these are available, Active Members will be notified that they are entitled to one (1) printed copy at no charge but that they must send an email requesting their printed copy and provide a contact name, company name, and a complete mailing address.  [Updated February 11^th, 2011]
